Hong Kong: Chinese New Year

This will be a relatively quick post as I had stopped in Hong Kong just for a few days in early February for Chinese New Year. This won’t really be a full post but it’s mostly just for the photos and a few notes on what I encountered.

My brief itinerary as it were:

  • February 4th: Arrived in Hong Kong and got to Causeway Bay where I was staying in a tiny private room AirBnB. Checked out the Victoria Harbour light show.
  • February 5th: Gong hei fat choy! Hung out with a friend until later afternoon. We hit up Nan Lian Garden, Kowloon Walled City, and finally the Flower Market which was in full festival mode for CNY. After dinner, I managed to get a decent spot for the parade.
  • February 6th: Hung out with another friend for lunch. Was mostly an easy day before beating my way through the crowds for a good viewing spot for the CNY fireworks. What an extravaganza!
  • February 7th: Headed back to Tokyo for a few days to prepare to head back to the Western Hemisphere and my South American adventures.

As mentioned, I stayed in a nice little AirBnB right in the middle of Causeway Bay. It was dead center of so many shops, convenience stores, restaurants, malls, and metro stops. The only downside was the bathroom was super small that I could barely fit in it.

There’s not much to add to this as most of my descriptions of getting around and such were posted from my last stay in Hong Kong. So let’s just check out some random photos!
